Four thousand square feet of timber, glass and stone at the top of the road — hand-built in 2003, full of light, and warm in a way the new glass houses never quite are.
Inquire about a stayStep inside and the whole house opens upward — exposed logs, a wall of windows, and an open great room where the kitchen, living and dining areas share the light and the view. The sun moves across the room all day, and in the evening the stone fireplace takes over. It's spacious enough for a big family or a group, and quiet enough for one person to rattle around happily for a month.
The home sits on 1.5 acres, and we own the two half-acre lots on either side — which is why it's so private. There are no immediate neighbors, no through-traffic, and the National Forest begins right at the back of the property.
The heart of the house: leather seating around the fire, big windows onto Quandary Peak, and an open flow into the kitchen and dining. It's where everyone ends up — for coffee in the morning sun and a fire at night.
A full kitchen with room to actually cook, an island, and a dining table set against the windows. Stay a month and you'll want to make real meals here — there's space for it, and a view to eat by.
On the main floor for ease, with a spacious spa bathroom — a deep soaking tub beneath a wall of windows, a walk-in shower, a steam feature, and his-and-hers walk-in closets. It's the owner's favorite room, and it'll become yours.
Four bedrooms in total, including bunk rooms the kids will claim on sight, plus a lower-level living area with a walkout to the views. Comfortable for a family, a group of friends, or guests who come to visit your season.
A dedicated office with a Quandary view and its own little fireplace — a genuine place to work, not a desk in a corner. There's also a sun room for reading, stretching, or simply following the light.
A real exercise room with a treadmill, bike and more — priceless in deep winter when you still want your daily steps — alongside a relaxed lower-level family room and wet bar.
Genuinely dependable high-speed internet for remote work, calls and the days you can't be offline.
Warm underfoot throughout, with a wood-burning fireplace for the deep-cold nights.
The home runs on its own well — cold, clean, mineral water straight from the mountain.
A deep soaking tub under the windows and a steam feature — your daily ritual with a view.
With bench and pedal, for the evenings — play well or badly, no one's listening.
Room for vehicles and gear, with the 4×4 you'll want for the winter road.
Washer, dryer and everything you need to actually live here, not just camp.
A reliable neighborhood plowing service and trash pickup all winter — the mountain, made easy.
1.5 acres plus two extra lots we own, bordering National Forest. No neighbors in your view.
Some summer interior photos shown are from the home's previous listing and will be updated with the owners' own summer set.
